"I shared the Vande Rose ham with some friends last night—Outstanding!
The flavor was superb, with an excellent apple-wood smoke and cure flavor but at just the right level so you can actually taste the pork (rare in a ham). The texture was great--like actually eating meat rather than rubber or spongy like many hams, also a very nice layer of delicious fat.
Several of us felt it was perhaps the best ham of its kind that we had ever tasted.

Saturday, I entered your pork butt in a local BBQ Contest, I placed first in pulled pork against a strong field of 11 Participants. It cooked low and slow and had the most delicious taste and beautiful appearance. It was cooked perfectly with a beautiful smoke ring, the judges loved it."
